Athletics Program in Italy


Open to all RMU Athletes

4 weeks in SUMMER 2 2016

Courses: CRX210 and 1 course selected from the FUA schedule 

You will spend your first of 4 weeks abroad traveling and learning about the culture and history of Italy as part of the Cultural Perspectives course. You will begin in Rome, then travel to LaMaremma and Versilia before heading to Florence, visiting sites that are well-known and some not-so-well-known to give you the true flavor of the country.  You will then settle in to an apartment in the historic city center of Florence. You will attend classes at FUA Monday-Friday, alongside students from around the world, and be free to explore the city or travel on your own while not in class.



Study Abroad Requirements:

  • Completion of 3 quarters (or equivalent transfer credits) prior to departure. 
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Reference from student's academic advisor
  • $300 deposit*
  • Completed FAFSA, SIGNED financial aid plan and a $0 financial-aid balance at time of acceptance


The cost to study abroad is tuition plus the study abroad fee. The 2015 study abroad fee is $5,200 and includes: Round-trip airfare from Chicago, airport transfers at destination, housing, insurance, and travel in the Cultural Perspectives course. A $300 deposit is required at the time of application. It is returned in the form of a credit to the applicant's account if they are NOT accepted not the program. If accepted, it is credited upon return, if there are no housing damages, flight changes, or any expenses incurred by the student due to negligence. All programs are subject to cancellation in the case of low enrollment.
