Study Abroad - Exercise and Sports Studies

Cultural Perspectives & Fitness/Nutrition at Museo del Calcio (soccer) & Apicius International School of Hospitality in Italy

You will spend the first half of your stay in Italy learning about the culture and history of Tuscany. You will be a "traveler" living as the Italians live! Once settled into Florence, you will take courses and complete an internship through Apicius.

Program takes place during the Summer I quarter for eight weeks for fitness students. Application deadline is February 15, 2012.

Students will be enrolled in:

  • Travel Writing
  • Cultural Perspectives
  • Nutrition in Sports, Sports Rehab and/or Internship

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in the fitness program, sophomore level or higher
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Reference from student's academic advisor
  • $300 non-refundable deposit, paid by March 15, 2012
  • Completed FAFSA, SIGNED financial aid plan and a $0 financial-aid balance by March 15, 2012

Costs and Fees:

  • RMU quarterly tuition
  • Study abroad fee of $5,000

Included in study abroad fees:

  • Round-trip airfare from Chicago
  • Airport transfers in Italy
  • Apartment living in Florence
  • 1 week of travel including transportation and housing in Tuscany
