Commencement Ceremony and Fees

Traditionally the University offers two commencement ceremonies per year: one in the spring and another in the fall. Commencement is a formal academic ceremony and academic attire is worn. There is a $25 fee to attend the commencement ceremonies. Graduation fees for the ceremony can be paid at your campus Bookstore or online through the eBookstore. Graduation fees are non-refundable.

Attendance at the graduation exercise is optional; however, graduates that have satisfied degree requirements are entitled and encouraged to participate. When students satisfy their course and grade point average requirements, they will receive detailed instructions concerning the commencement exercise from the Student Information Office or the location bookstore.

Students who are one quarter away from meeting degree audit requirements for graduation may pay their graduation fee and attend the graduation ceremony. Students who may be eligible for awards will be able to receive them, and their names will be printed in the graduation program as long as payment is received before the set deadline date.

  • Family and Friends can order flowers for graduates to be picked up at the theatre through Flowers for Dreams at http://www.flowersfordreams.com/robertmorris.  All proceeds will go to purchase  backpacks for CPS school students.
  • Graduate caps and gowns may be recycled by mailing the regalia to GreenRecycle, Oak Hall Cap and Gown, 3812 Blue Ridge Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018.
  • To view the professional photos taken at the ceremony please visit www.gradimages.com. If you did not receive your proofs in the mail you can contact the photographer through the website listed. (Chicago Metro Ceremony ONLY)
  • If a student is close to graduating, then they will need to verify and/or update their address prior to the last day of class in order to have the degree sent to the correct address. There are two ways a student can do this; either in person or online. Update your address online!
