egg - Submission Criteria

Robert Morris University's egg is now accepting submissions for its print edition and its inaugural online edition.  RMU reserves the right to edit and to publish all original literary and art submissions submitted by students, faculty and staff.  Please read the following criteria carefully to ensure the proper submission format, and remember: 

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY to rmuegg@robertmorris.edu

For all submissions, please adhere to the following guidelines: 

• All literary submissions must be in the form of a standard query letter. Make the subject of your email the genre and the title of the piece you are submitting (FICTION: The Old Man and The Sea). Please both paste your work into the body of the email and attach it as a Microsoft Word file (.doc/.docx/.rtf).  Label your file: YOURLASTNAME.YOURTITLE.doc. Also in your submission, please include:
  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Campus location
  • Position in school (i.e. student, faculty, staff)

 

Any submission improperly formatted will not be considered by the egg.

 

• All art submissions, must be in the form of a standard query letter. Make the subject of your email the genre and the title of the piece you are submitting (PHOTO: The Snowflake). Please both paste your work into the body of the email and attach it as a high-quality JPEG file (at no less than 300 dpi).  If an electronic copy is unavailable, please scan or photograph the submission and save it as high-quality JPEG file (again no less than 300 dpi). Label your file: YOURLASTNAME.YOURTITLE.jpeg. Also in your submission, please include:
  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Campus location
  • Position in school (i.e. student, faculty, staff)

              Any submission improperly formatted will not be considered by the egg.

  

• Please include only one submission per email.

• There is a maximum of three submissions for each category.  For example, the maximum amount of submissions for one person would be 3 literary works and 3 artistic works (6 total).

• If your work is chosen for publication in the egg, you will be contacted via email.  If not, please continue to submit for future editions.
