So the last time I wrote, I told you we were studying China in my International Foods class. This past week we did foods from Korea and Taiwan. Most people wouldn't think there is much of a difference but there actually is, especially when it comes to flavoring and spicing. Korean and Taiwanese dishes are generally spicier, whereas Chinese dishes tend to be tangier. As we go through every week and learn about different cuisine we are able to compare the different flavors and different styles of foods to learn where they get them and how they came about in their countries.

On another note.....

My lease is up and I have to look for a different place to live. I've been looking for a couple weeks now. This is my first time looking for an apartment and let me tell you, it is so complicated. There are so many choices and so many different places offering different things! You have to find a place that is just right for you as far as what it offers, its safety and most importantly its location. It can be stressful but it is fun as well. I can't wait to see where I end up!

Since last time a lot has happened. Last time I said I was looking for a place to move since my lease was up. I found a great place here in Chicago that is close to school and still allows me to do the things I need to do before. It is slightly farther away from where I used to live but it is still in a great location. It has been a long journey to find one and it got stressful at times but I'm glad that it is finally over and I'm happy with the decision I made.

It's also the end of the summer 1 quarter. We just had finals week. I believe I did very well on my finals this quarter. We also get a 1-week summer break, which is great because we can relax and gather ourselves for next quarter. Summer is still going and there's a lot more in store in the future.  I can't wait to see what is in store for next quarter!
