So for my birthday last year my family actually did a nice walk at Mathison State Park, Utica. Usually I dont do things for my birthday but it was such a nice day out and I desided it would have been fun. This place is just abosolutely beautiful. Its a good walk through the whole place but definately well worth it. Its kind of like a Starved Rock but 100xs better. The nice place about this is not only do you walk along the trails but there are stairways that go down to a lower level and you can walk on stepping stones through creeks. It was so much fun. There was one area where you gotta kinda walk through this little creek, not to deep, but when you get across it there was this big waterfall. So me and my sister were watching the people walk through the water and we kind of hesitated because they were wearing scandals and we were wearing gym shoes with socks. OH GROSS!!! haha but we went anyways, and we even dragged my little brother across to so my mom had no chioce but to walk through it to, which she wasnt to happy about. So once we got to the waterfall it was so amazing, and the best part about it was that me and my sister climbed up the wall and climbed behind the waterfall. I never thought that I would be able to do something like that. I thought that was just something you only see in movies. But it was gorgeous, and I thought about how adorable it would be if someone was proposed to under thier or just asked out. It was quite the site We were definately there all day and we even packed a bunch of snacks and sandwiches. The whole trip was a lot of fun and I think anyone could have fun going to a place like this. It was so relaxing and its not just your ordinary trails. It was a great time. Next on Real Life @ RMU

Hello! So yesterday evening I left for my cottage up in Buchanan, Michigan. We go up there a lot for the summer. We just recently rebuilt the cottage so we can up there in the winters. The weather was just beautiful, everyone was going swimming in the lake right outside our cottage. Sometimes in the summer we do a lot of activities. We have the volley ball net, some tubbing, and most of all, bean bag games. My family is always having some kind of competition with the bean bag game. We didnt do any tubbing this weekend because my dad didnt have the boat up there, but we were able to go for a nice ride on the pontoon boat. Usually we take the pontoon boat all the way out to middle of the lake in the deep part and jump off the boat. This part of the lake has no seaweed, which I hate swimming in. During the night it was really cold and I kept hearing frogs out on the lake. It was really hard to sleep. Not only that but I had to sleep on an air matress. Those are terrible to sleep on, they kill my back. We were going to go horseback riding today. That has always been fun, doing th etrail riding. But I have to work today at four so we had to make sure we were back in time for work. Overall the night was a lot of fun. We spent over an hour trying to hook up a dvd player to this old tv so we can watch a movie. By the time we got it working we couldnt get the movie to play, so we had to watch the previews twice. There was no remote. Then once we got the movie to play everyone fell asleep. It only took about an hour to drive home, but that is because my boyfriend likes to speed, so the car ride home went by pretty fast. Now I have to go to work , hoping that it will be busy tonight, so I can make some money! |

So at least one of my blogs had to be about my boyfriend, John. Now being together for five years has been seriously the toughest thing ever! Relationships are definately not easy. Now there are so many stories I could tell you about us but im just going to tell you how we met. John moved out to my nieghborhood around November of 2003. Such a long time ago. I didnt notice him in the halls of highschool until Janurary. Caught my attention but me being so incredibly shy I could never go up and talk to a guy. Are you crazy I dont do those things. haha So of course my best friend had her boyfriend and im the third wheel.. Great feeling! Well she told me that thier was this new guy on her bus that she thought I would get along great with. So crazy thing she ended up pointing out john and she introduced us. So we started talking and getting to know each other. Now at the time john had lost his voice, he was sick with something. I am NOT good with conversation. Ive gotten better, and if I know I need to keep a conversation going I try my hardest but I stink at it. So were talking and I cant hear a thing he is saying and just knowing him I didnt want him to think I was weird because I keep saying what or huh. So he finally asked me out. YAY! Couple weeks went by and I never really met his mom but I wanted him to meet my parents. Was I nervous, even though I knew that john was such a great guy, such a gentlemen, my dad can be crazy with the guys that I date. So its in the middle of winter and John only lived three blocks away. I gave him directions to my house. So that night im waiting forever and I knew something wasnt right. I put my coat on and decided to meet with him. I got down to the end of my block and dont see him anywhere.. got the his block and I still dont see him. Im thinking, if he didnt leave yet im going to be furious. So I get to his house and his mom answers the door. She told me that he had already left. So turns out john went in the opposite direction as what I told him.. men! haha. So that was the first night I was actually meeting his mom and it was crazy because I told her my last name, after she asked, and she said "WOW! I know your dad!" So I was hoping it was a good way and not bad. Turns out my aunt, my dad's sister, was good friends with John's mom when they were all in thier teens. Not only that but she also met my parents because she works at a tile store and my parents came in to buy tile when we first moved. So the first time she actually saw me was when I was in fifth grade. So I was really taken away at how crazy small the world is and now five years down the line and me and john are still together. AWWWW HOW CUTE! |
