About MeMy hometown is Cleveland, Ohio, but I came to Chicago in hopes of increasing my knowledge of the culinary industry. Most importantly, I hope to find myself as I grow and mature. My biggest goal in life is to use my talents and gain knowledge to produce the best life I can for myself and my family, and to be happy and healthy.

Hello fellow readers, how have you been? I apologize for the time since I have written a blog, but I am back with more adventures and tales of RMU. Currently it is week 5 here at RMU. The fall quarter is in full swing and already half way over. Students as well as myself, are trying to keep up to date with projects as well as the week 5 mid-terms. I had my first mid-term of the week, Advanced Pastry and it went rather well. Granted that it was an open book, but as I have learned having a test be “open book” does not guarantee a passing grade on the exam. (This is my senior year at RMU and my classes are as follows: Advanced Pastry, Professional Studies, an online branding class and finally a beginner’s photography class). This is one of my easiest and hard quarters at the same time. Half my classes I am confident in my skills and abilities and the other two I hope to come out with B’s in the end. My two hard classes are Professional Studies and personal branding. Professional Studies is difficult because of the coursework that is involved. It is also the hardest class in my bachelor’s degree. Once I’m done with this class it's all downhill from there. My online personal branding class is hard for other reasons. Such as the confusion that is Black Board and the fact that it is not an actual in classroom class. The amount of work that is also required is ludicrous, with papers and case study’s all due within week’s time. This may seem like a challenge, but I know if I keep up with my work I know I can accomplish it. Next week is my favorite holiday of the year; Halloween. I still do not know what I am going to be dressing up as or what I will be doing. I might go home the weekend before and celebrate the holiday with friends but I plan to be back on Monday to let the festivities begin. This year at Fornelli Hall there is a door decorating contest that I hope I will win. What the prizes are idk but getting into the spirit of things is what it’s all about. Speaking of spirits, I saw Paranormal Activity 3 last Thursday and let me say that movie was crazy! It was soooo freaky and scary. I usually do not get scared but I was chomping at the bit. Well time to go until next time, Adios. p.s. included are some of my recent photos from my photography class, enjoy! Next on Real Life @ RMU

Super bowl 46- Yesterday was one of the biggest sports events in American history. It was super bowl 46, which starred the New England patriots and the New York giants. The game was neck and neck the entire time!!!!! Madonna, Niki Minaj, M.I.A. and Cee-Lo Green were among the many performers. The news and opinion on the web shortly after was that their performance was nothing to be mentioned. On a better note Kelly Clarkson belted out the national anthem, in which received great reviews; compared to last year Cristina Aguilera. The winners of super bowl 46 were the New York Giants. Graduation- Graduation for me is a quarter away. I can’t wait to walk across the stage and receive my diploma for all of my hard work and dedication to Robert Morris. I did not walk across the stage for my associate’s degree because I was back home in Ohio. My plans for after graduation are this: to get a job, find an apartment on the north side and save up so I can possibly continue school for a master’s degree. I hope that Robert Morris has a master’s program that will co-inside with my major; culinary arts. Weather- The weather this entire season has been nothing but bi-polar. It does not even feel like it is winter, let alone February. Not that I am complaining about the wonderful weather, but I do not want winter to last longer in the year and or for it to sneak up on us when we are all unprepared and unexpected. This weather is also confusing for our bodies as well. As my mom would say “it is pneumonia weather”. Final culinary class- Unfortunately my tenure her eat Robert Morris is currently ending. With that said next quarter I will have no culinary classes. :*((( The class that I am currently in is Advanced Breads. It is awesome and I am learning soooo much. Who knew bread/baking bread could be such a process and involve so many steps and processes. Last week my culinary partner made croissant and I made many forms of Danish’s. This included bear claws, cinnamon twists, cheese Danish’s and an apple bread twist. They were all yummy and delicious!! Passport Chicago- Passport Chicago has been very good to us dorming students. This week they gave the students free movie passes along with free art museum tickets. I used my movie ticket to go see the new Daniel Radcliff movie, The Woman in Black. It was all right, a typical scary movie….It of course had a woman’s vendetta as the main cause of death within the movie. I do not think he will ever be anything more than Harry Potter. The Chicago Art Museum was crazy!!! It was so big and there was so much to look at. I hope I am able to do many more passport Chicago events before I graduate. Till next time Peace……………… |

Hello fellow blog readers, I am back and have soooo much to talk about. Last week was Christmas break. The one time of the year in which we get an actual week off for winter vacation. And, as usual, it went by quicker than ever. I decided to go back home for the Christmas holiday, but return to Chicago for the new years. Home and Christmas went off without a hitch. I was nice to see how our family grew from last year, a true blessing. I also received a few things that I had wanted from Santa Claus. Side note: Christmas is a very wonderful time of year and the feeling you get, is pure bliss. New years was if one thing, crazy!!! This was my first new years of legal drinking age and I used that to my advantage lol. Although I was completely inebriated, I was still under control and able to watch the ball drop twice and have a good time!! I had rented a hotel for the night and stayed at the Days Inn of Chicago….It was a pretty nice hotel with that said. It was sad though, to see another year go by so quickly. I AM GETTING SO OLD!! The prime of my life is over lol or so I think…. Week Five is here and gone already!! This quarter is flying by faster than ever. I am almost done with my Bachelors, and only have 15 weeks left. I am also sad to say that I am currently in my last culinary class at RMU, which is advanced breads. It’s going well, and I’m learning so much. Today we made doughnuts...They were fresh and delicious. Next quarter I have to do a 100 hour internship. I am excited to get working again. I am hoping to get temporarily hired for the internship at a well known Chicago catering business by the name of Blue Plate Catering. It would then be awesome if they wanted to hire me straight out of school. I could only imagine…no wait, that’s what’s going to happen. Set goals and strive to reach them P.S. What crazy weather we have been having??? It seems like spring rather than winter….only if it were true…
