About Me

My name is Jeremy and I am a student at Robert Morris College in Peoria Il.  Right now I am in the process of completing the Bachelors curriculum in Computer Networking.  I have a 5 year old son named Dakota who is in Kindergarten and a wife Laurel who is currently attending nursing school at a local hospital here as well.  When I get a break in my hectic schedule, some of my hobbies include snowboarding, creating electronic music, and mixing records as well as hang out with my son and wife.  I plan to use this space as an opportunity to share some about upcoming events at Robert Morris College, as well as concerts and local events happening around the Midwest.  Any questions or comments can be sent to me at jkai12@gmail.com.

Who I admire Most
More...

When asked who they admire most, probably all of the people asked would say the names of famous people or their fathers or mothers, but I think I'm fairly unique when I say that the person I admire the most is my son.  He is 6 years old now and almost in 1st grade.  He has taught me a lot about life that I was too immature to see until I had him.  The way he looks at things with such a curious eye when I would have just glanced over them and taken it for granted is especially interesting.  It's also nice to see how he easily forgives his friends even after they hurt his feelings.  He is so excited about life every day when he wakes up and is ready to start his day even when I'm dragging in the morning and always is excited to see me and his mother.

Although I'm sure a lot of this will change as he gets older, I can still learn a lot about how to act as a parent and as a human in general.   A lot of people say that  I should have waited to have kids, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Have a great week!

WOW!

My wife is graduating nursing school in a week!  I am so impressed with her for sticking with her education and accomplishing a goal of hers.  She ended up going to ICC for a couple of years (6 to be exact) and then moved over to Methodist College Of Nursing to get her RN-BSN.  She has applied for jobs and actually landed a position on the Postpartum wing of the hospital.  She had worked there as a CNA in the past and knows most of the nurses on that floor so she is so excited.

Also my son is going to graduate from Kindergarten!  He has come such a long way since he started last August.  When he went into Kindergarten, he could pick out and name almost every letter, but didn't really know how they sounded.  Now he is reading complex sentences!  It's amazing how fast kids grow up!

Also, I've finally got sucked into the myspace world so if you want to drop me a line you can at:

 myspace.com/progressiveimpulses

Once my page is officially setup, I plan to do a bi-weekly podcast of some of my fav. tracks of the week and maybe occasionally mix a house/tribal set and throw it up there.

Oh, and if you're still reading...

There is going to be a pretty large music festival in Chicago on July 29th and 30th called the Pitchfork Music Festival.  It's going to have 38 bands.  A few of the ones I'm excited to see are The Futureheads, Art Brut, Band of Horses, Hot Machines, and Spoon.  Since most of RMC is within a few hours of Chicago you should ALL attempt to make it for this event! NO EXCUSES :)  For more information go to www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com  If you plan to go and want to meet up send me an email at jkai12@gmail.com or post a message on myspace.com/progressiveimpulses

Have a great week!

Hello

Hello again!  I haven't written much lately because I've been really really busy the past month with school and my son Dakota.

I had my first Cisco Network Academy final exam and didn't do as well as I thought I would have done.  It was really disappointing, but our teacher is great for this class and he gave us the opportunity to redo the test...unfortunately even after studying for an extra week I didn't manage to do any better the second time around.   But I at least passed the exam and am done with it since we're now started into the 2nd semester of the Cisco curriculum.

I think this semester I'm going to be more motivated to read ahead in the book and do all of the study guides for the chapters before class...we'll see if that makes a difference when it comes time for the next final exam.

If I haven't been in school, I've most likely been out playing with my son.  It's been so nice outside we've found plenty of cool things to keep us busy.  We went to the zoo last week which was a lot of fun.  I took my camera and was going to try to get pictures which I would have posted on here, but I have the worst luck with cameras sometimes.  I forgot to put the battery back into the camera and was without power for it!  DARN!

Well hope you have a great week and are enjoying this nice weather while we have it.  I think this summer is going to be H0T!
