About MeMy name is Jeremy and I am a student at Robert Morris College in Peoria Il. Right now I am in the process of completing the Bachelors curriculum in Computer Networking. I have a 5 year old son named Dakota who is in Kindergarten and a wife Laurel who is currently attending nursing school at a local hospital here as well. When I get a break in my hectic schedule, some of my hobbies include snowboarding, creating electronic music, and mixing records as well as hang out with my son and wife. I plan to use this space as an opportunity to share some about upcoming events at Robert Morris College, as well as concerts and local events happening around the Midwest. Any questions or comments can be sent to me at jkai12@gmail.com.

I am an official Netflix junkie. If you don't subscribe to the service, then you definitely should. It's pretty cool, you can build a queue of movies up that you want to watch and then pick your monthly plan to get your movies. I started out with the 9.95/month plan which gives you 1 movie at a time. They send your movie to you, you watch it and then put it back into the pre-paid return envelope. The service is really fast for almost all movies, only 1 day transit time to and from netflix. I have watched close to 60 movies in 4 months time and have only paid about 40 dollars. I just upgraded my service to the 14.99 plan which will give me 3 movies at a time. Lately I have been renting older movies for my son and have also gotten soem of the 80's sci-fi movies that i watched as a kid. Some of the better ones i've seen lately are: E.T. Space camp The Last Starfighter Flight of the Navigator Short Circuit 1 and 2 Honey I Shrunk the Kids

Hello
More...
Hello again! I haven't written much lately because I've been really really busy the past month with school and my son Dakota. I had my first Cisco Network Academy final exam and didn't do as well as I thought I would have done. It was really disappointing, but our teacher is great for this class and he gave us the opportunity to redo the test...unfortunately even after studying for an extra week I didn't manage to do any better the second time around. But I at least passed the exam and am done with it since we're now started into the 2nd semester of the Cisco curriculum. I think this semester I'm going to be more motivated to read ahead in the book and do all of the study guides for the chapters before class...we'll see if that makes a difference when it comes time for the next final exam. If I haven't been in school, I've most likely been out playing with my son. It's been so nice outside we've found plenty of cool things to keep us busy. We went to the zoo last week which was a lot of fun. I took my camera and was going to try to get pictures which I would have posted on here, but I have the worst luck with cameras sometimes. I forgot to put the battery back into the camera and was without power for it! DARN! |
Real Life @ RMUJeremyProgram: Networking Hometown: Morton, IL Campus: PeoriaWho I admire Most
When asked who they admire most, probably all of the people asked would say the names of famous people or their fathers or mothers, but I think I'm fairly unique when I say that the person I admire the most is my son. He is 6 years old now and almost in 1st grade. He has taught me a lot about life that I was too immature to see until I had him. The way he looks at things with such a curious eye when I would have just glanced over them and taken it for granted is especially interesting. It's also nice to see how he easily forgives his friends even after they hurt his feelings. He is so excited about life every day when he wakes up and is ready to start his day even when I'm dragging in the morning and always is excited to see me and his mother. Have a great week! |
