My name is Jeremy and I am a student at Robert Morris College in Peoria Il.  Right now I am in the process of completing the Bachelors curriculum in Computer Networking.  I have a 5 year old son named Dakota who is in Kindergarten and a wife Laurel who is currently attending nursing school at a local hospital here as well.  When I get a break in my hectic schedule, some of my hobbies include snowboarding, creating electronic music, and mixing records as well as hang out with my son and wife.  I plan to use this space as an opportunity to share some about upcoming events at Robert Morris College, as well as concerts and local events happening around the Midwest.  Any questions or comments can be sent to me at jkai12@gmail.com.

The past couple of weeks...

This past couple of weeks have been really hectic!  We have to complete 3 Cisco tests and a take home Cisco midterm test, and do midterm exams for Finite Math and Oracle.  I'm going to be busy studying this weekend and throughout the week but it will all be over with soon enough.  I really enjoy the Cisco classes so far, it really brings together everything i've learned in my classes in the past.

Midterms went fairly well, I think I probably should have studied more over Christmas break, but we were too busy over break to do that.  I will have to really study for finals this semester.  We have already signed our schedules for Spring Quarter.. Time has flown by fast lately.  I can't believe we only have just over a year until we have our bachelors degree!  Have a great week everyone!

These are pictures of the trip my wife and I took to hawaii over Christmas break.    Here is a short narritive of the pics.

 1.  This is a picture of a trail in Volcanoes National Park.
2. This is a picture of a naturally formed bridge that was made of hardened lava.  This was incredible to see close up.
3. The cloud in the distance is a steam cloud made when lava pours into the ocean.  The vapors are toxic and we didn't feel like walking 10 or more miles to this area so this was as close as we got.
4. This is a picture of our tour guide on the lava viewing trip.  He was a really interesting guy to talk to.
5.  This is some lava that was coming up out of the ground in front of us, I was probably about 3 feet away from it when I took this picture.
6. More hot lava
7. Even more hot lava
8.  This is the remains of a military highway that was covered up during an eruption in 1993 I think.... Needless to say it's completely covered now.
9. This is a sign that was burned by hot lava landing on the top corner of it.  The steam cloud is in the distance as well.
10. This is a picture of my wife Laurel after hiking 6 miles across the lava field.  It was extremely hot out there.
11. This is a picture of Laurel in Maui on a really small secluded beach that we found.  It was a lot of fun.
12. This is a picture of a cement block that someone dumped on the beach,

13.  This is a picture of the cruise ship we were on, this was a lot of fun on new years eve.

14. This is one of my 'artistic' shots at the harbor that we were at.

15. This is a young hawaiian girl that was handing out shell necklaces at this luau we went to.

16. Here are some natives that were taking the pig out of the underground oven.

17.  This is a picture of my wife Laurel standing in front of a tree at the luau

18.  This is a fire dancer that performed at the luau.

19.  Here is a picture of my wife with Elvis :)

20.  This is the shuttle bus at the Honolulu airport.  An inside joke...

21.  This is the O'hare airport in terminal C as many of you may know...

22.  This is a picture taken out of a hole in the side of the boat, I believe the island in the background is Kona.

23. This is a picture of my wife Laurel and I that was taken by a guy who owned these birds.

24.  This is a picture of one of the many different types of flowers in Hawaii.

25.  This is a picture of one of the statues of a hawaiian king i think, we were in a hurry and didn't have time to stop and look at it.

26.  A huge tree

27.  We told the people on the boat that it was our belated honeymoon and they gave us a cake!

28 & 29.  These roosters and chickens were EVERYWHERE on Kona, we got a lot of great videos of them.

30 & 31.  These are pictures of Waimea Canyon on the island of Kauai.  The view was absolutely breathaking.  It is much more beautiful than the grand canyon in my opinion, but also much smaller.

32.  This is a shot of a palm branch.

33.  A shot of a really neat tree down at Kauai Coffee plantation. The plants in the background grow the fruit that contains the coffee bean.

I hope you enjoyed viewing the pictures, we had a really great time taking them.  Hopefully one day I will be able to visit again!

Is It Spring Yet?!?

I hope everyone is enjoying their new semester's classes!  I am taking Cisco (still semester 1 of the network academy), crime and punishment, database management, and professional writing.  I am not the best writer when it comes to business type letters, so that will be great for me.  Also the database classes have proven to be a real challenge as well so I'm looking forward to diving into this one and learning as much as I can.

I have also recently become a business partner in a web design company!  It is run by another student at RMC and the business's web site is still in the development stages, but if you're interested in checking it out go to www.digitalwunderkind.com.   The site is constantly changing but will be completed sometime in the next month or so.  Also if anyone is interested in having a web page designed for them, we are working on basic templates, and can design them specific to anyone's needs so please feel free to contact us!  I have also started creating my own website with music reviews, weblog, and some more stuff I haven't decided on yet, It's in the beginning stages, but should be finished sometime in spring.  If you're interested go to www.jeremykaiser.com and check it out!  Please report any errors that you find with the site to jeremy@jeremykaiser.com.  Thanks!

I have also recently purchased a video iPod.  This is one of the greatest inventions of the century in my opinion, I have been going nuts lately downloading music from iTunes and have found some really great bands out there so I've decided to put up a list of my favorite cds.   So here goes!

1.  Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

2.  Les Savy Fav - Inches

3.  Nada Surf - The Weight Is A Gift

4.  The Rakes - Capture/Release

5.  Stephen Malkmus - Face The Truth

6.  Wilco - Kicking Television: Live In Chicago (2 disc set)

7.  Wolfmother - Wolfmother

8.  Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime Reissue (older cd)

9.  Death Cab For Cutie - Plans

10. Constantines - Constantines

11. Team Sleep - Team Sleep

I hope you check out some of these great bands if you haven't heard their music before, and please leave any feedback of other bands that are worth checking out and they may make the list next month!  I have a new email address also:  jeremy@jeremykaiser.com

Have a great week!

Valentines day and Final Exams.... yay.
front_of_bag back_of_bag
Hi! Hope everyone is having a good quarter at school! I messed up big time and didn't plan ahead for my wife's valentines day present since I didn't have a whole lot of time to plan with final exams coming the same week (AND right in the middle of final exams) So, I decided to send her 1/2 dozen roses to her school and planned it so it would interrupt her lecture for the afternoon.. she just recently got them and loved them so i'm off the hook there...  I also found a little bit of time (and a good excuse to not study for an hour or so) and drew some pokemon for my son since he likes pokemon so much.  I glued them onto a brown paper bag and filled it with candy (see pics attached) I think he should be pleasantly suprised.  Anyway enough blogging, i have studying to do!  GOOD LUCK ON FINALS!
