Winter Quarter Begins!
I hope that everyone is keeping warm as we start to really get into the winter weather for which Chicago is known. It has been so mild this season - I must be reminded of this relatively nice weather when, come March, I start complaining about the long winter! This quarter is going to be a bit bittersweet for the first class of the Higher Education Administration concentration as it is our last class all together! For those of us that are continuing part time, we will continue to have classes together but those who are participating in the full time program will be just a few classes away from being finished - time has flown. But I will wish them all well as they continue on with their careers or make a career change. I hope that you will be keeping an eye out for the Student Ambassadors as we will be making our presence known during this holiday season. I would also encourage you to friend us on Facebook so that you can keep up to date with all the events that with which we will be involved. |
Real Life @ RMUJaimeProgram: Management Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee Campus: ChicagoSo busy!
It has been awhile since I have created a new blog post. Things have been so hectic with the holidays and having family in town - not to mention, I have a new baby in my life! But now that we are firmly in the new year, things have started to calm down and I feel back in the game :). The Winter quarter is already 1/2 over - that has absolutely flown by. As I have mentioned previously, this marks the last class that my cohort will have together. Many members of my class will be graduating next quarter! This is also just the second class that I will have that isn't within my concentration. That is one of the things that I love about the Higher Education Administration program at RMU. I am able to take classes in higher education as well as management. This variety of classes will hopefully make me a more marketable candidate! I also want to point out that tomorrow marks the first of 2 Campus Pass Days. This is a weekday event (on a Friday) so we are basically asking students to take a pass from high school to come visit the RMU campus. Who doesn't want to skip a day of school?!? But this is going to be such a great event. The Student Ambassadors have created a program for the day that will allow the students to be completely free of parents and teachers. Hopefully it will allow those students interested in RMU to ask the questions they may not want to ask in front of adult figures. I am excited about it and think that it will be a great opportunity to show future RMU students what the university is really like. If you are interested in attending this event or a similar event on Friday, January 27, 2012, please get in touch with the Admissions Office. We would love to see you there! Oh, one more thing...today marks the first major snowfall of the winter season in Chicago!! It is so beautiful (from the inside). |
