Greetings from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

So, I am currently in the Pacific Northwest. I spent several days in Seattle and now I am on the relatively short train ride to Portland. It is amazing how far technology has come. I am sitting here on my computer, using the free wi-fi from Amtrak. Thanks Amtrak!!

This past Saturday was the RMU Campus Visit Day ("CVD"). There were over 150 perspective students who came to campus to check out the school and the many programs that RMU has to offer. As Student Ambassadors, we planned the event (with the help of Admissions) and, if I do say so myself, it seems that we pulled off a pretty fun event.

I hope that if you are interested in RMU that you were able to make it. I met some amazing students who are excited about what their future holds. It was great to speak to these students and their parents and I hope that many of them will decide that RMU is the place for them come fall.

If you weren't able to make but are still interested in RMU, please let me know. I would be happy to show you around the school and give you as much info as I have. And beyond that, I would be more than happy to refer to one of the incredibly knowledgeable Admissions Counselors!!

It's My Favorite Time of Year!

So I have been extolling the virtues of the summer in Chicago but, to be honest, my favorite time of year is the Fall. I love apple picking, the cooler weather, and the changing of the leaves. I also love to pull out my crockpot to make some delicious chili - YUM!

This year though, the Fall does bring a bit of sadness: it will mark the end of the first round of the Student Ambassador program (we are hoping that the program will be renewed for the fall). It has been such a great experience, getting to know so many smart, fun, and friendly RMU students. I hope that at some point this summer you have seen us out and about in the community. We shouldn't have been that hard to miss - all decked out in our fantastic RMU gear.

This program has certainly been a learning experience, both personally and professionally. There were times when it was stressful but most of the time, it was a blast. The staff at RMU, as well as the students, certainly made this job easy. Here's hoping the program can continue!!

Week 6 Already?!?

I have to tell you, this quarter is going by so quickly. I can't believe that we are already halfway through the quarter! Of course, the closing out of this quarter also means that the end of summer is right around the corner.

I absolutely love summers in Chicago (except for those days it gets up 90 degrees; well, and that one random day in May with it only got up to 38 degrees was a bit annoying as well). There is so much stuff to do and so many fantastic people to meet. This past weekend I spent everyday out, touring and exploring the city. I went to the Air and Water Show, Navy Pier, the Sears Tower (yes, I am aware that technically, *technically* I should be calling it the Willis Tower but that just isn't going to happen), the Hancock Building, and I even did an architecture tour of the city. The best part of that tour? There are buildings that you can see from the river that you would never notice from the street!

In the midst of all this adventure, I was working as a Student Ambassador for RMU. This meant that I was promoting the school while having a great time in the city - talk about the perfect job! I did meet a lot of people and even hope that some of them will consider RMU in the future.

I hope that everyone gets in all their summer fun before we have to hibernate for winter!
