Campus: Chicago
Program: Culinary Arts
From: Rockford, IL
More...
My name is Greg Taylor and I am a culinary arts student at the RMC Chicago downtown campus. I didn’t have an idea of what I was going to go to college for until my junior year of High School while living in Rockford. I was always a fan of cooking but never knew that I would one day become a professional chef in Chicago. In my personal experience life has many ups and downs and what I know for sure is that coming to Robert Morris College is definitely one of the ups that life has taken me through. I soon plan to start my Bachelors degree program in January of 2008 and I believe that coming back for my BA will put me way above the rest of the competition because of my drive to better myself educationally. A person once told me that there are ordinary people and there are extraordinary people and the only thing that separates the two are the extra things the extraordinary people do. So I try every day just to be EXTRAORDINARY!

Busy kind of guy
More...

So I haven’t written a blog in a long time simply because I’ve been really busy, what can I say I’m a busy kind of guy lol. one of the reasons why I’ve been extremely busy is because I did an open house for new incoming students and let me just say I had a blast, it was great to meet all of the new students and some of them may have been you. It was a lot of questions about knowing how to cook before you come here. The answer to that is NO you don’t need to know how to cook you just need to have a passion for it like I did. I didn’t know how to cook I just knew how to bake and decorate cakes, so to answer your question again no you don’t have to know how to cook. If you have any other question feel free to ask :)

Trust
More... Trust is a powerful word, and i think you really dont understand it until you reach college and you have to do group projects or your relying on a friend. i hear people talk about trust everyday and some of what they say goes like this, " man its hard to trust Joe because he never comes to school and he doesnt do his share of the work" or " i cant do this anymore you keep saying your going to get it done but you dont" i believe if you commit to something and you put your name on the line then you have to follow through with it even if you cant do it, its the right thing to do and others wont loose trust in you. so remeber when you enroll this summer that life is about trust and your going to see a lot of it when you get into college
hip hop

what is hip hop? no fa real what is it because i dont know i'm kind of lost here. i never grew up listening to it because it never appealed to me but now that i'm in college, let me tell you....i still dont like it much lol i know that sounds crazy but its true, i'm not hip i guess. if your wondering why i'm writing this i'm in Atlanta GA for a week long convention and its an after party going on right now and the music playing is old hip hop and i'm not the only one here whos not feelin it. i dont think that makes anyone lame who dont like it i just think it makes them a little more tasteful dont you think so?
