About MeI’m a Chicana (Mexican American). Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I’m the fourth child of five siblings….can you believe my little sister was born the day of my 6th birthday (and took my spotlight as the baby of the family)!! Anywho, through most of my younger years I attended three different Elementary Schools: Hammond, Pilsen and I graduated from Nightingale Elementary and then went on to Hubbard High School. After graduation I continued my studies at MacCormac College where I received my Associate’s in Business Office Technology in 2002. After so much school I would have never imagined I would be working within a school. I am currently working at a Chicago Public High School and have been there since I was granted an internship in 2001. I love my job and the people I work with. In 2005 I decided it was time to further my education and register to complete my Bachelor’s, I began at DePaul and transferred to RMC because of their great flex program, which has been treating me very well. My anticipated graduation date is early 2008. A little more about myself, I like to make new friends; I love new experiences; and I plan to join the Peace Corps to go off to different parts of the world to help in any way I can (I like to think of myself as a humanitarian). To this end, I’d like to share a little words of wisdom:In life there is no obstacle neither too difficult nor too easy, you have put forth the best of your abilities and have a mindset of never giving up on yourself, regardless of what others may say, and never settle for failure. To be successful in any endeavor, its important that besides anyone else the #1 person who should have your back 100% is yourself, first and foremost. Believe and you will achieve!!!

Wow. Time sure flies! So I surprised myself this quarter due to the fact that this Humanities class was surely to be a disaster but I pulled through and managed to do very well. I thought that I was going to leave that class with not a single thing learned, but reflecting on all the work and thinking that we had to do, it made me see literature in a new light and realize the many ways one can interpret different kinds of literature. Thanks Dr. Sgarlata! Accounting 300 was a blast and the instructor taught in a way that was sure to help me retain the information. Thanks Mr. Knutsen! English 325 was also a great class. We learned how to compose proposals and we worked on a project in which our purpose was to create letters and send them out to different companies, asking for donations to help a not-for-profit organization based in Chicago. It was a rewarding experience. Thanks Ms. Meador! Well, I enjoyed this quarter and now I'm moving up to the 400 level courses! Ay Ay Ay! I have two quarters left!!! Oh yeah!!! Lets just see how smoothly these courses move along. Hope you're all having a wonderful experience here at Robert Morris College. Adios! |

Hello, hope everyone enjoyed their little Spring Break. So Spring quarter is going by soooo fast for me which is crazy because this is my last quarter and I'm taking MGT 450. Its better than what I thought the class was going to be like and it helps that Mr. B is so outgoing and very informative. I would recommend this teacher for those who are soon to take MGT 450. I'm also taking this Microbes class that is very interesting. I love science and labs, so this one was a treat for me. Lets not mention the lab we did on how much bacteria can be found in one location...YUCK!! Wash your hands everyone! And I'm also taking Global Marketing with Ms. McCarthy....she is great and has traveled to many places! So this is Week 6 and my midterm grades are on track and fabulous. I'm so anxious to finally accomplish my goal of achieving my Bachelor's. This summer, since I work for the CPS, I will be out of work and will use this time to apply for a few internships on my own to get a taste of what is out there. I'm also planning on getting involved with Chicago Cares, which is a volunteer organization that offers different activities. Let me not forget the fact that after my last day...which is Thursday, of the Spring Quarter....I'm catching an early flight to MIAMI to go celebrate with my best friend and party it up!!! The trip included a cruise to the Bahamas....I am going to party and relax for sure!! I am counting down the days.....man this was soooo worth it!!! |
