I’m a Chicana (Mexican American). Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I’m the fourth child of five siblings….can you believe my little sister was born the day of my 6th birthday (and took my spotlight as the baby of the family)!! Anywho, through most of my younger years I attended three different Elementary Schools: Hammond, Pilsen and I graduated from Nightingale Elementary and then went on to Hubbard High School. After graduation I continued my studies at MacCormac College where I received my Associate’s in Business Office Technology in 2002. After so much school I would have never imagined I would be working within a school. I am currently working at a Chicago Public High School and have been there since I was granted an internship in 2001. I love my job and the people I work with. In 2005 I decided it was time to further my education and register to complete my Bachelor’s, I began at DePaul and transferred to RMC because of their great flex program, which has been treating me very well. My anticipated graduation date is early 2008. A little more about myself, I like to make new friends; I love new experiences; and I plan to join the Peace Corps to go off to different parts of the world to help in any way I can (I like to think of myself as a humanitarian). To this end, I’d like to share a little words of wisdom:
In life there is no obstacle neither too difficult nor too easy, you have put forth the best of your abilities and have a mindset of never giving up on yourself, regardless of what others may say, and never settle for failure. To be successful in any endeavor, its important that besides anyone else the #1 person who should have your back 100% is yourself, first and foremost. Believe and you will achieve!!! So I had to drop a class and now my graduation date will be later than expected. See, this quarter I'm taking Accounting and Statistics and was also going to take Humanities 310, BUT the first week of class gave me a taste of what I was in for, and boy am I in for lots of computations and equations and all that good stuff I like about any math subjects. Anyways, so, I figured since Accounting and Statistics are pretty hard subjects to manage, I should spend more time on them and work at my own pace. A part of me didn't want to make this change....but after so much math, who wants to sit and read a long passage of literature? I know I don't. Plus, now that I'm a Senior and these higher level courses are kicking in, I would prefer to take my time and work at a pace I feel comfortable with so that I'm not going crazy trying to juggle three classes. PLUS, since I work at a school and its about that time to begin orientation and all the hoopla of beginning a new school year....I'll be very busy, so two courses will suit me and my schedule just fine. Enough about that.....ITS FRIDAY!!!! and you know what that means........STUDY STUDY and do homework!!......lol. You must think I'm crazy!!! ITS PARTY TIME!!! Everyone, have a great weekend and please don't drink and drive. A neighbor of mine just passed from such doings. Be careful and enjoy yourselves. As for me, I'm on my way to the Simpsons movie to see my favorite HOMIE (Homer... he's so dreamy!!), without commercial breaks. Also got my girls birthday bash to hit on Saturday, its gonna be a good one! Until next time, my friends.

WELCOME
Welcome to MySpace...lol j/k. What a phenomenon huh? Anyways, so I just started on this blogging for RMC and I'm excited...what other way to let other RMC students into your world than to share your thoughts and experiences and hear back from those who wish to share any insight or common interests? A feeling of community!! I'm eager to share the many aspects of my life and have them heard rather than just write in a boring journal in which there is no one to share your thoughts with but lined paper. So I hope to make the best of this and, as well, hope that you enjoy my episodes!! With all this said, I will close with a sincere goodbye or see you later!!! Make sure to go the the Simpsons Movie...it will be the best ever! I'll be there! Adios amigos....hasta luego.
