About MeMy name is Catherine Deregla. I have 7 tattoos and one day would like to go to Bangkok to have a Borneon-style tribal pattern done by a Monk while he performs a Buddhit Thai prayer while tattoo'ing me. Like the saying says "if you get one, you can't stop". I'm currently reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne and is amazing. I am learning so much about myself and what I can do to inspire me and my life more and more each day. If we only can be positive in our attitude and in personal life, we can accomplish anything we set out minds to. Author Bob Doyle says, "Basically put, the law of attraction says that like attracts like. But we're really talking at a level of thought"

My boyfriend has been in the talks about moving to Kentucky after my graduation. I am all about change, because good change is good! I did some of my own research and found that houses are fairly cheaper than Park Ridge, where we currently live and the cost of living is about the same. Talk about prices! Houses down the street from ours range over $800,000 to $2 million ... I wonder sometimes ... anyway ... Here's a photo of a house that is for sale in Covington, KY (where we would move). It's a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, full basement, newly carpeted and has had only one owner. Price (drumroll, please) $199,500! Again, this was just my own research and come to think of it, I wouldn't mind moving ... let me know your thoughts, if you like at derec021@robertmorris.edu Hope to hear from you! -Cat |

I have a background in web/graphic design so when the media started promoting Frank Miller's "300" movie, I had to see it. This low budget film took 60 days to complete, bringing it #1 in the box offices with an estimated $70 million and possibly more. I was truly amazed and blown away but the magnificent cinematography and graphic design. This is absolutely the best Frank Miller has put out there. “300” is beyond entertaining, I would definitely see it over and over again and you can count on me for getting the DVD when it releases. Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" concerns the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world's first democracy. Persian King Xerxes lead a Army of well over 100,000 (Persian king Xerxes before war has about 170,000 army) men to Greece and was confronted by 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and other Slave soldiers. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender or withdraw left with no options he moved. The battle lasted for about 3 days and after which all 300 Spartans were killed. The Spartan defeat was not the one expected as a local shepherd named Ephialtes defected to the Persians and informed Xerxes of a separate path through Thermopylae, which the Persians could use to outflank the Greeks. |
