Choosing a Lender

This list consists of Lenders that Robert Morris College students have used in the past.  Robert Morris College does not require students to choose a lender from this list.  Students and their families have the right to choose any bank and/or lender that participates in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program and Stafford loan programs.  Also, students and families can choose any lender to borrow additional private/alternative loans.  RMC will be happy to communicate with the lender of the student's choice.  The College will work closely with all lenders to ensure the best service possible for RMC students and parents.

The lender is the institution from which the money is actually borrowed, but the interest rates and terms of the loan are set by the U.S. Department of Education.  Listed below are lenders that RMC students have used in the past.  Students chose them based on their good customer service, competitive borrower benefits and communication with the borrower when the loan is in grace and repayment.  It is not necessary to have a banking relationship with a lender to use that lender for your student loan.

A student and/or family may select a different lender than those listed below.  The student and/or family should contact the lender for borrower benefits.  Please contact the Office of Financial Services with the name of the lender so RMC can process the loan.,

Robert Morris College's Procedures for Selecting Lenders
The lender list is reviewed annually based on the criteria above.  All lenders that contact the College are reviewed.  The lenders material and informational packets are evaluated based on the best interest of the borrower.  Interviews are scheduled with the lenders to examine service of loans.

Robert Morris College utilized a "Request for Information (RFI)" and Lender Scorecard for choosing its lenders for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 academic years.  All interested lenders received the RFI.  All completed RFIs were evaluated based on the Lender Scorecard.
