Starting in the 2012-2013 school year, the US Department of Education strongly recommends that all students utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool in order to move through the financial aid process more quickly. This service pulls information directly from the IRS in order to ensure accurate information.
At RMU, we are encouraging all students to utilize this tool as well once taxes have been submitted to the IRS. Please view the video below for a step-by-step instructional video on how to use the tool.
Please note: Not all families will be able to utilize the IRS Data Tool based on different circumstances. Please contact your Admissions Counselor if you are having difficulties. Also, in the 2013-2014 school year there might be some differences between the video and the questions on FAFSA. The general process, however, is similar.
