How to Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool

The US Department of Education strongly recommends that all students utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool in order to move through the financial aid process more quickly. This service pulls information directly from the IRS in order to ensure accurate information.

At RMU, we are encouraging all students to utilize this tool as well once taxes have been submitted to the IRS. Please view the video below for a step-by-step instructional video on how to use the tool.

Please note: Not all families will be able to utilize the IRS Data Tool based on different circumstances. Please contact your Admissions Counselor if you are having difficulties.

Also, in the 2015-2016 the Department of Education implemented a new login known as the FSA ID. In the video, it still talks about a PIN, but when you go to the website you will be asked to provide your FSA ID.
