Employee Orientation

The Office of Human Resources and the Teaching Institute sponsor a comprehensive orientation program for new employees. All new employees are strongly encouraged to participate in the orientation programs.

Human Resources Orientation

This session provides a brief overview of the College’s mission, goals, and history. Participants complete the required paperwork and discuss applicable benefit plans as well as policies and procedures. All full-time employees are required to attend this session, which is held every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chicago Campus.  Part-time employees should contact the Office of Human Resources to schedule an appointment prior to their first day of employment.

Eagle-Guide Program

The Eagle Guide or E-Guide serves as a contact point for a new employee for general information or to be directed to the appropriate person or department. Additionally, the E-Guide facilitates and directs new employees through a checklist of activities. This applied experience guides the new employees through the eight main stages a student experiences including admissions, financial services, academic advising, academics, career services, graduation, and alumni affairs.

In the Loop

In the Loop is a quarterly event for new and current employees held at the Chicago campus. This event provides new employees with a taste of the Robert Morris College culture as set by the main campus and provides current employees with the opportunity to showcase their departments while welcoming and networking with new employees. New employees will attend the In the Loop event with their Eagle Guide.

Employee Resource Guide (ERG)

The Employee Resource Guide (ERG) is an informative reference tool that is easily accessible to all new and current employees through Blackboard. The ERG provides institutional information including our mission statement, history, student process, an organizational chart, campus and department fact pages, RMC glossary, and E-Guide activity checklist.

Faculty Foundations Program

All full-time and part-time Robert Morris College faculty are required to attend the Faculty Foundations Orientation Program, which is typically held prior to the start of the quarter during weeks eight and ten. The session discusses the College's mission, operating principles, applied education philosophy, academic policies and procedures, faculty and student support services, communication and technology, and classroom management. The program is hosted by the Teaching Institute and presented in partnership with the Office of Human Resources. Please note that this session is separate from New Employee Orientation.
