Supplemental Instruction
What is Supplemental Instruction (SI)?
- SI offers additional academic assistance in courses with a high rate of D, F, or W grades
- Assistance is in the form of a peer study group or SI session
- The SI session has a facilitator, the SI Leader
- SI Leader has successfully completed the course and actively participates in class as a model student
- SI sessions are twice a week for an hour, Week 2-9, or students may discuss an alternative schedule with SI Leader
- SI sessions are free
- SI participants receive higher grades than those who do not attend SI sessions
