RMC TAKES 6TH AT ACHA NATIONALS
Robert Morris came back to tie Penn State on Sunday to take 6th place at the ACHA National Tournament. The Eagles lost their first game to Colorado 4-3. They led 2-0 before allowing four straight goals, then mounted a furious comeback that fell just short. Later on Friday RMC took out their frustration on Penn by blanking the Quakers 12-0. On Sunday they once again took a 2-0 lead, this time against Penn State before allowing three goals to fall behind 3-2. They tied the score with 4 minutes left and neither team scored after that. The Lady Eagles finished the season 31-6-5. Leah Johnson was named to the 1st All-Tournament Team. Katie Johnson and Krista Sleen were named Honorable-Mention.
Lady Eagle's finish regular season #1 in the Nation!
Robert Morris College Lady Eagles Hockey Team completed its regular season with 2-2 tie and 4-3 loss at #4 ranked Lindenwood Univ(St. Louis). The Eagles completed its regular season 30-4-5 and await the National Finals to be played in East Lansing Michigan March 19 - 21( hosted by Michigan St. Univ). Robert Morris is ranked 1st in the National Polls followed by Michigan St.
Lady Eagle's are #1 in the Nation!
The ACHA finally after some delays provided the results for the 3rd national rankings, which placed Robert Morris at #1 in the Central division and #1 in the Nation for the ACHA. This was mostly due to the Eagles outstanding performance at the UMASS Amherst tournament and its outstanding record this season! Eagle's face Ohio State
The Eagle's faced Ohio State Friday, January 30th and Saturday, January 31st. Friday was a high scoring game for the Eagles who beat Ohio State 6-1. Ashley Ackerman had a great night contributing 2 of the 6 goals. Other goals scored by: Mindy Shelton, Nicole Flanagan, Leah Johnson, and Katie Johnson.
Saturday night was a larger challenge for the Eagles coming to a tie with Ohio State, 1-1. Leah Johnson had the lone goal for the Eagles. The Eagles had over 40 shots recorded for the game, at least 20 of which occurred in the 3rd period but couldn't be converted to goals. The Lady Eagles record to date is 22-3-3.
Victory at UMASS Tournament!
After a tough four day tournament, the Lady Eagles came out victorious at the UMASS tournament located in Amherst, Massachusetts, taking home a first place trophy. The Eagle's faced many challenging teams while at the tournament and finally made it to the final game facing University of Rhode Island for the championship!
