Heeb announces additional signings!

New Signees:

Jasmine Mack is a 5'4" point guard from Alton High School / Rend Lake Community College (Illinois).  During her playing career, Jasmine was among the team leaders in steals and assists for Rend Lake CC.  She is an ultra quick, playmaking point guard with exceptional defensive capabilities and a quality student-athlete.  "I'm very excited to be able to add a playmaker like Jasmine to our roster.  She is a great addition to our team both on the court and off," stated Head Coach David Heeb.

Amanda Phillips is a 6'3" center from Alton High School (Illinois).  Amanda played in the very tough Southwester Conference last year that witnessed eight players sign with NCAA Div. I schools.  Amanda averaged over 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots per game against very stellar competition.  With Amanda's size and mobility she will add a new dimension to our roster.  "Amanda is one of the best all-around student-athletes we've recruited since I've been here at Robert Morris.  With her size and shot blocking ability, she has a chance to establish herself as one of the premier low-post players in the USCAA," commented Heeb.

Ashli Silverthorne is a 6'1" forward from Deer Creek Mackinaw High School.  Ashli was a four year all-conference player in high school and her team MVP her senior year.  Ashli scored over 1,000 points in her career despite missing half of her senior year with injury.  "Ashli is a very versatile player.  She has a rare combination of size and skill that could really help our front line this year," added Heeb.

Clarissa Parrow is a 5'6" guard out of Spoon River Community College (Illinois).  Clarissa transfer's as a sophomore and will look to add to our depth in the backcourt.  Clarissa is a very good athlete and one of the hardest workers on the team.  "Clarissa comes very highly recommended from Spoon River.  She will no doubt add to the depth and character of our team," states Heeb.

"We've got eight fantastic new recruits now to join our returners from the 07-08 team.  I'm very excited about getting all these kids into camp and see what kind of team we will be this year.  We are also still possibly looking to add one more to the depth chart."

Eagles’ Heeb adding to the mix!

After completing his first season as head coach of the Robert Morris-Springfield women’s basketball team, David Heeb is concentrating his efforts into his first full season of recruitment for the Lady Eagles.

Gloria Hernandez is a 5’10” forward from Portage High School (Indiana).  During Gloria’s senior year she averaged 13.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.  Coach David Heeb commented, “Gloria provides for us another player that can score and rebound.  She is an outstanding addition to our current group of frontcourt players we have returning.  We are very excited about her potential.”

Tanesha Parker is a 6’0” forward from Belleville East High School (Illinois).  During Tanesha’s senior year she averaged 6.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.  “Tanesha is clearly without a doubt one of the best athletes I’ve seen play this year.  She is a physical player who should make an immediate impact for our program.  I believe with the right work ethic, the sky is the limit for Tanesha,” stated Coach Heeb.

Kyisha Ricks is a 5’5” guard from Caruthersville High School (Missouri).  During Kyisha’s senior year she averaged 25.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game.  Kyisha was also recognized as a 2-time SEMO All-Conference Selection and a 2-time Class 3 All-Region Player.  Coach Heeb commented, “Kyisha is another outstanding player and student-athlete we’ve added to our backcourt.  I look for Kyisha to adjust nicely to the college game and quickly start making an impact in games.”

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the addition of these four young outstanding young ladies we’ve added to our program early on at Robert Morris.  I look forward to working with this group joining our returning kids."
