#10 Eagles take on second-ranked Lee in NAIA Quarterfinals today!

Decatur, AL - The tenth-seeded Robert Morris Women's Soccer team will face the two-time defending champions, #2 Lee University (TN) when they play their weather-delayed quarterfinal game in the 2010 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Soccer Championships at 2:00 PM CST on Thursday, December 2, 2010.

Playing in its seventh Women's Soccer National Championship, Lee cruised past first-time qualifier Tennessee Wesleyan 7-0 in the Opening Round. The Lady Flames then defeated 15th-seeded Mobile (AL) in the Round of 16 on November 29.  It was the third time this season that Lee had beaten the Rams, a fellow member of the Southern States Athletic Conference.

The Eagle reached the quarterfinals with a 3-0 opening round win over unseeded Spring Arbor University (MI) at Flames Field in Chicago, IL on November 20, 2010.  Samira Suleman (Takoradi, Ghana), Liz Ebel (Belleville, IL), and Shannon Bennett (Portage, MI) scored for RMU, all off assists from Patricia Noguiera (Araraquara, Brazil).

They followed that with battle in the rain and mud against #7-seeded and former national title winner Lindsey Wilson University (KY) on Tuesday past.  The Eagles came away with a 2-0 win, scoring on the only two shots-on-goal they would tally in the contest.  Ilana Milkez (Bogota, Columbia) scored off an assist from fellow senior Christine Ketteman (Portage, MI, pictured above at right) and Linda Mathisen (Trondheim, Norway) banged home a free kick from just outside the box.

Jeannette Williams (Kentwood, MI) posted her fifteenth shutout of the season to put the Eagles into the national quarterfinals for the second time in Coach Kurt Melcher's career.

Tom Wuestenfeld, the Voice of Robert Morris Athletics, is in Alabama, ready to bring RMU fans all the action.  Visit the Eagle Sports Network page for links to listen live.  All RMU webcasts are free.
