Eagles take to gridiron with new football program!

Chicago, IL - Already boasting one of the largest intercollegiate athletic programs in Illinois, Robert Morris University has begun the final steps in fielding an Eagles football team in 2012.

"This addition has been part of the University's long range plans for quite a while," said Robert Morris Athletic Director Megan Smith.  "We've been trying to find the best fit for us regarding facilities, and with those negotiations in their final stages, we're beginning the search for our head coach."

The University plans to finalize its hiring of the program first head coach by June 2010 with recruiting to begin immediately.  Practice will begin in Spring 2011 with the team's first games to be played in the 2011-2012 season.

Varsity competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics will begin in Fall 2012.

The head coach will be responsible for managing team activities, scheduling, game itinerary planning, recruiting of student athletes, operating within budgetary guidelines, and serving as a role model/official representative of the University.  The selected candidate will insure the team operates and conducts themselves within the rules, ideals, and goals set forth by RMU and the NAIA.
