Waukesha stand-out Chris Pierson to roll for Eagles in 2009!
Chicago, IL - The Robert Morris University Men's Bowling team's rise to prominence has been impressive as the Eagles earned a spot in the United States Bowling Congress National Team Championships in just their second year of intercollegiate competition. Maintaining that pace requires top-level student-athletes, and RMU coach Dale Lehman has added one to his roster with the signing of Chris Pierson of Waukesha, WI.
The son of Eric and Denise Pierson, Chris achieved one of his personal goals as a prep bowler when he was named a member of the 2009 Junior USA Gold team. The rangy righthander had a stellar 2007 when was the Wisconsin State High School Doubles champion. That same year he captured the All-Events title at the Wisconsin State Youth Championships. He already has a perfect 300 game under his belt as well. A graduate of Waukesha South High SChool, he was a stand-out for the Waukesha North combined squad.
"Chris is big, powerful bowler with a great deal of experience in high-level competition," said Coach Lehman. "He will fit in well with our team as we continue to develop the program."
The newest Eagle kegler will pursue a program in computer-assisted drafting in the University's Institute of Art & Design.
Robert Morris is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and competes in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles field teams in twenty-one men's and women's sports. The University also belongs to the United States Bowling Congress-Collegiate Division, the American Collegiate Hockey Association, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, and the United Dance Association.
