Gold to take on World University Games national team in February exhibition!

Chicago, IL - Chicagoland hockey fans will get a treat on February 15, 2009, when the Robert Morris Gold Men's Hockey team takes on the ACHA World University Games team at Center Ice of DuPage.

The United States World University Games team is made up of top-level American Collegiate Hockey Association players.  This year the WUG will be held in Beijing, China, where the best international collegiate hockey teams in the world will assemble for week of tournament play.

The Gold will provide the WUG team--sponsored by USA Hockey and sporting the same USA jerseys worn by the American Olympians--with their final tune-up before they fly off for Beijing.

RMU has been represented at the WUG in the past by two outstanding student-athletes: 2005 graduate Rudy Moser and 2008 grad Ryan Tomassoni.

"This is an opportunity to see some great hockey played by athletes who usually wouldn't be on the ice together except to compete," said RMU Director of Hockey Operations Tom Wendlandt.

The Center Ice Arena of DuPage is located at 1N450 Highland Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL.  Admission to the game will be free.
