#8 Wisconsin reaches quarterfinals with 6-1 win over Buffs!

Bensenville, IL - The #8-seeded University of Wisconsin Badgers bounced back in the second day of pool play, defeating the #12 University of Colorado 6-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the ACHA Women's Division I National Championship on March 7, 2008, at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL.

The Badgers scored a trio of goals in the last three minutes of the first period to take command and never look back.  They added another three goals over the next two periods.  Colorado got their only tally with about fifteen minutes left in the game to spoil the shut-out.

Jaime Ferrentino (Buffalo, NY) scored four of the Badgers' goals for a hat trick plus.  Wisconsin goalie Shannon Herrick (Hartland, WI) stopped 20 of the 21 shots she faced to earn the win.

The Badgers advance to the quarterfinals where they will face the University of Massachusetts at 7:45 PM on Friday evening, March 7, 2008, at the Edge on John Street.  Colorado will play in Saturday's consolation bracket.
