Lady Eagles ink Ohio star DeeDee Khoury for 2008!
Chicago, IL - The Robert Morris Volleyball has added an outstanding setter to its 2008 roster with the signing of Deandra Khoury from Bowsher High School in Toledo, OH.
DeeDee is a four-year varsity letter winner for the Rebels, playing under the tutelage of Coach Amanda Holt. "DeeDee has a great feel for the game, a court awareness that makes her special," says Coach Holt. "She played through some injuries this year that might have stopped other players. We had a great season, and a lot of that success had to do with her setting."
Bowsher reached the Ohio State High School Athletic Association AAA district semi-finals this past season, compiling a 16-5 overall record. The newest Lady Eagle put together a great senior season: 360 assists in 16 matches, averaging 7.2 assists per game. She also had 109 digs and a 99-percent serve record, committing but a single serving error for the season.
DeeDee earned All-City recognition in each of her four prep seasons, adding All-District honors in her final season. She won these honors despite missing part of the season due to a shoulder injury.
Since seventh grade, she has played year-around, competing in both scholastic and club volleyball. During her high school years, DeeDee played AAU ball for the Toledo Volleyball Club.
The daughter of Nate and Jeanine Khoury of Toledo, OH, she comes from an athletic family. Both her aunt and sister played college volleyball and a cousin played in the Chicago Cubs minor league system.
"We're very excited to add a player of DeeDee's ability to our volleyball program," said RMC Associate Athletic Director Margaret Clark O'Donnell. "We feel we've really solidified our setter corps for the coming season."
DeeDee will attend the College's Chicago Loop Campus and pursue a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree.
