RMC Wins USCAA National Championship!!!!!!
Robert Morris College Men's Soccer Team defeated Rochester College 5-2 to capture the 2004 USCAA Men's Soccer Championship hosted by Bluefield College W. Virginia. Scoring for the Eagles were Jose Gavilanes, Sergio Macias(2), Eddie Lopez, and Lungana Shungu. The score was 3-2 with only 6 minutes left when Macias scored his 2nd goal(unassisted) to give the Eagles some breathing room. RMC goalkeeper David Chacon was solid again with 6 saves in the game. RMC is 17-2-2 for the season with one game remaining Tues at UW Platteville. All-Tournament Selections from RMC are Lungana Shungu, Lupe Gonzalez, Sergio Macias, Silvio Mejia and David Chacon.

Eagles Defeat #3 Southern Virginia - Play for Natinal Title Saturday
Robert Morris College Men's Soccer Team beat Southern Virginia 3-1 Friday behind 2 goals by Lupe Gonzalez to advance to the USCAA National Title Game Saturday at 12:30 PM against the winner of the Bluefield College - Rochester College game. Also scoring for RMC was Gerado Jimenez who scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 OT victory over New Hampshire Tech. RMC improved its season record to 16-2-2. Also announced by the USCAA Men's Soccer Coaches Committee on Thurs, both Lupe Gonzalez and David Chacon were named All-Americans. Congratulations to David and Lupe!
Eagles Soccer Stun #2 Ranked New Hampshire Tech in Round 1 of National USCAA Soccer Finals
Robert Morris College defeated New Hampshire Tech 3-2 in OT this afternoon at the USCAA National Soccer Finals hosted by Bluefield College. RMC was behind 2-0 with 7 minutes left to go in the game, when Gerardo Jimenez got the Eagles on the board to make the score 2-1. Three minutes later Lupe Gonzalez(leading goal scorer in the nation USCAA) tied it up at 2-2. Sergio Macias scored the game winner for RMC in overtime to make the final score 3-2. RMC will play #3 Southern Virginia at 1:30 PM on Fri in the semi-finals. The Eagles improved to 15-2-2 for the year.
RMC Rolls on over Springfield College!!
RMC Men's Soccer beat host Springfield College 6-0 on Friday in Springfield. Lupe Gonzalez scored a hat trick for the Eagles to lead the nation with 24 goals this season. The Eagles are 14-1-2 and will play at Carthage College in Kenosha at 7 PM on Tues Oct 19.
Eagles Going to Nationals!!!!!
On the eve of a miraculous goal at the end of the game to tie Morton Jr. College, RMC Men's Soccer learned that they will be competing in the USCAA National Finals in Virginia the last week of October. Jose Gavilanes nailed a miracle goal from 40 yards out into the upper corner of the net with 3 seconds to play to give RMC a 4-4 tie with Morton. The Eagles were down 4-2 with 10 minutes remaining when Richie Armour scored his 2nd goal to cut the lead to 4-3. A foul was called on Morton with 14 seconds to play to set up the winning kick. RMC is 12-1-2 for the season with their next varsity competition this Fri in Springfield against Springfield College.
RMC Ranked 14th in USCAA
After beating Joliet Jr. College 3-0 on Thurs., the Men's Soccer team in Lake County learned that they had risen to number 14 in the latest USCAA nationwide rankings. Also, Lupe Gonzalez was the number 2 goal scorer in the nation. RMC will take on Prairie State College this Sat. RMC is 9-0 for the season.
Men's Soccer Continue to Roll
RMC Men's Soccer improved its record to 8-0 by defeating College of Lake County 6-3. Lupe Gonzalez scored 4 goals to lead the Eagles over CLC for the 2nd time this season. Richie Armour had 3 assists for the Eagles. They will take on Joliet Junior College on Thurs.
RMC Impressive over Carthage
The RMC Men's Soccer team continued its outstanding play with a 5-1 victory over Carthage College on Tuesday. The victory ups Carthages record to 6-0 for the season. Leading the way for the Eagles was Ricardo Way with 2 goals. Angelo Salazar and Lunganga Shungu were credited with a pair of assists, with Richie Armour also earning a helper. The Eagles will host Trinity Int (JV) team at the Serbian Complex on Thurs.
Eagles defeat Lakeland
RMC Men's Soccer won the battle of the unbeatens besting Lakeland College in Wisconsin 2-1. The win improves RMC to 5-0 while Lakeland dropped to 5-1. Ricardo Way scored both RMC goals, one being unassisted. Jose Gavilaines assisted on the other goal and was named player of the game. RMC next takes on Carthage Tuesday 14th at the Serbian Complex.
RMC rolls over UW Fox Valley
Robert Morris College Men's Soccer Team continues to steamroll through their schedule with an 11-0 pasting of UW Fox Valley. David Chacon and Richard Armour each had hat tricks for the Eagles, along with 2 goals scored by Lupe Gonzalezwho came right from his wedding ceremony straight to the game. Both Hugo Gloria and David Chacon were stellar in goal. The Eagles improved their record to 4-0 for the season and will take on Lakeland College on Tues Sept 7.
RMC defeats College of Lake County
Robert Morris College's men's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-1 romp past visiting College of Lake County on Tuesday afternoon at the Serbian Brothers Soccer Complex in Lindenhurst. Goals were scored by Gerado Jimenez, Lupe Gonzalez, Javier Rose, and Jose Gavilanes. The Eagles will participate in the Moody Bible Institute Tournament this weekend.
RMC defeats St. Francis
The Eagles Soccer Team opened up its 2004 campaign with a 2-1 victory over St. Francis. Leading the way were Ricardo Way and Lupe Gonzalez with goals and 2 assists from Angelo Salazar. The Eagles will host CLC Tues. Aug 24 at the Serbian Soccer Complex in Lindenhurst at 4 PM.
Fall practices begin on Mon Aug 2 thru Sun Aug 15 from 5 PM -7:30 PM. All practices are held at the Serbian Brothers Soccer Sports Complex.
Physicals for all RMC Lake County Athletes will take place in room 128 at the Lake County Campus Friday July 9 from 2 PM - 4 PM and on Friday July 30 from 2 PM - 4 PM. Proof of insurance should be supplied at this time.
Lake County Men's Club Soccer completed its inaugural fall season with a 10-1-1 record. The Eagles were led by Lupe Gonzalez, Jesus Hernandez, Lorenzo Stephen, Gerardo Diaz, and Benny Kaciv. Congratulations to the Eagles on a very successful start!
Lake County Men's Soccer will become a member of the USCAA in the fall season of 2004. The Eagles will play their home games at the Serbian Brothers Soccer Complex in Lindenhurst. Directions: Take US Highway 45 to Rte 132(Grand Ave). Go West on 132 about 1/4 mile to the Serbian Brothers Soccer Complex and make a left(South) into the parking lot.
