1st Annual "Skate for Pink" - see story below

On January 23, 2010, the Robert Morris University - Springfield Hockey team hosted their 1st Annual "Skate for Pink" to help raise awareness & funds to assist in battling breast cancer.  Spearheaded by Zach Turner (freshman; Colleyville, TX), all proceeds are going to benefit the Susan G. Komen Fight for the Cure.  Above, the Robert Morris University - Springfield hockey team pose for a team pic in their pink uniforms after defeating the visiting Bradley Braves 6-0.

Hipe Training
Working with the team is fitness trainer Wayne Carrolls of High Intensity Practical Exercises, or "HIPE" gym.  HIPE is a component of the hockey program and its commitment to success.  Wayne has been named "Best Trainer in Springfield" two years running by the Illinois Times.  Wayne has trained the North American Hockey League Springfield Junior Blues.  The Junior Blues were able to experience fantastic progress under Wayne's fitness program, falling just short of the Robertson Cup finals.  Wayne is a welcome addition to the program in Springfield.  In addition to Mr. Carrolls extensive knowledge and skills as a fitness trainer, the HIPE facilities are perfect for the teams needs by providing sport-specific training.    

Facility
Robert Morris-Springfield competes in the MACHA Silver Division and will play all home games at The Franklin Nelson Center, Rink 2 located in Lincoln Park, Springfield, IL.
