WHY ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY HOCKEY?
1. Unlike many other ACHA programs, the RMU-IL program is fully funded. This means that you pay nothing to play, including travel expenses and meals while on the road for competition.
2. As a program on the upswing, you're being recruited to come in and play and play right away.
3. The Gold team offers a coaching staff that is well-known and respected at every level of the game.
4. The Gold team coaching staff is known for its excellent communication and providing their players with an environment that balances challenge and fun.
5. We play in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League, the premier league in the ACHA, featuring opponents such the University of Illinois, Lindenwood University, Iowa State University, and Ohio University. The last five ACHA national champions have come from the CSCHL.
6. We play in a state-of-the-art rink, The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL, home to the USHL's Chicago Steel and former practice facility of the Chicago Blackhawks.
7. RMU students have the opportunity to qualify for a wide range of private grants and scholarships. As a private, non-for-profit institution, Robert Morris has the best of both worlds in terms of being able to offer a package of federal, state and private grants to help make our University very affordable. The vast majority of our students qualify for a variety of significant financial rewards that goes directly towards tuition. To find out what you may qualify for, application to the school and a current FAFSA are all that are required; chances are you will be pleasantly surprised!
8. Because we have four teams that play at various levels, even if you have a sub-par training camp, we can find a place for you in the program to get your game together and work your way back to the Gold team.
9. We pro-actively monitor your academic progress with frequent grade-checks. We want to ensure you are moving forward towards your degree.
10. Our goal is to win a championship, and we believe in you enough to feel you are going to be a part of that success!
