Friday December 9

RMC White D2                   5
University of IL@Chicago  3

The White team gets in the win column with a nice team effort, backstopped by freshman goalie Kyle Kodatt, who got his first start in this season.  Jim Korienek has a pair of goals and Nick Cucci continues to put the biscuit ion the basket for the White team.

They play UI-C again tonight in Hoffman Estates at 9:20p.m.

Saturday December 10

RMC White D2                   8
University of IL@Chicago  4

The White team gets the weekend sweep vs UI-C and freshman Kyle Kodatt got both victories in the nets in his first two appearances this season.  Kyle worked hard with his coach to raise his game and earn some playing time, and it now appears that the White team has three solid goaltenders they can count on.

It was a much needed "sweeps weekend" for the White team, who have had more than their share of close contests they have come out on the wrong side so far this season.  The goals were spread out among many players, a nice team victory.

The White team is also now on holiday break, they reopen on the road vs McKendree College plus a third "make up" game vs. SIUE Silver the first weekend of January.

Friday December 2

RMC White D2       1
McKendree College 6

The White team into a 6'3" brick wall of a goaltender from McKendree Friday night.  They outshot the visitors 56-15 yet lost by a lopsided score.  The usual reliable goaltending the White team had been getting let down Friday and they could not slove the visiting netminder.

They also have their rematch tonight at Addison Ice at 5:50PM.

Saturday December 3

RMC White D2       3
McKendree College 8

An older, bigger and stronger McKendree team wore out the White team Saturday night and defeated them easily Saturday night.  The White team was not able to build on their dominating effort in a losing cause from Friday.  The weekend sweep leaves them with little margin for error if they are going to make the MACHA Silver playoffs, but they get a chance to regroup against another "rookie" team, the UIC-Flames in Hoffman Estates this coming weekend.

Friday November 25-ACHA THANKSGIVING SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT

RMC White D2 1
DePaul          11

A tough day at the office for the White team as DePaul methodically rampaged the White team goalies.  DePaul outshot them 48-15.  Nick Cucci had the lone goal for RMC.

Saturday November 26-ACHA SHOWCASE CONT.

RMC White D2   2
Northern Illinois 3

A good effort by the White team that came up just a little bit short.  A see-saw battle that had RMC on top early thanks to another goal by Nick Cucci, but NIU tied and then took the lead in the 2nd period.  The White team tied it in the 3rd on a goal by Adan Lesko, but NIU took the lead for good with 1:31 left in the game.  Carson Davies was solid in the net for RMC, stopping 44 shots in a losing cause.

Sunday November 27-ACHA SHOWCASE CONT.

RMC White D2       4
RMC Springfield D2 5 OT

The White team nearly pulled off a major upset, taking the Springfield team to overtime before losing 5-4 on a power play goal.  Jim Korieniek had two goals and Mark Pelletier tied the score with 0:21 left on the clock in regulation, sending the game to OT.  Mike Brown made 45 saves in the losing cause.

As a result of the victory for Springfield, they won the tournament for the second year in a row.

Friday November 18

RMC White D2 7
Northwestern   1

The White team dominated the Northwestern squad right from the opening faceoff, earning an important win in the MACHA silver tier and breaking a four game losing streak.  Freshman Jamie Maurizi and Mark Pelletier each had two goals, and sophomore Ryan Schuman had four points.  Mike Brown has established himself as "the man" in the nets for the White team and had another excellent game.  The White team goes for a much needed sweep tonight at Addison Ice, 5:50pm.

Saturday November 19

RMC White D2 4 OT
Northwestern   4

The White team failed to take advantage of many scoring opportunities and managed a tie against Northwestern after beating them soundly last night.  Jamie Maurizi scored for the second night in a row and has made an impact since being assigned to the White team.  They earned three points in the MACHA Silver over the weekend plus now hold the tie breaker over Northwestern, so the playoffs are now still in sight.  They are now 7-9-2 overall and 2-7-2 in league play.

They also play in the Thanksgiving tournament this weekend with game against Lindenwood, DePaul and Robert Morris Springfield.

Friday November 11

RMC White D2 2
Illinois State    5

A disappointing loss on the road for the White team, as Illinois State has been struggling so far this season.  Soft goals given up early by starting goaltender Carson Davies put the White team in a hole they could not dig out of.  Sophomores Jim Koreniek and Eric Fronek scored the goals.  Hopefully they will come home with a split, as they need to start piling up some points in the MACHA silver if they are to make the playoffs.

Saturday November 12

RMC White D2 4
Illinois State   10

A poor performance on the road from the White squad, who got swept on the road in MACHA league play.  Defensive breakdowns and lots of odd man breaks resulted in many of the goals scored by a vastly improved ISU.  They are now 5-9-1 overall but only 1-7-1 in league play.  A sweep vs. Northwestern next weekend at home is needed to get them back in the playoff hunt.

Friday November 4

RMC White D2 1
DePaul           4

The White team hung in there with against a DePaul squad that split earlier this season with our Maroon team.  Adam Lesko, just assigned to the White team had the lone goal, which at the time tied it a 1-1.  Costly penalties late in the second netted DePaul two power play goals, giving them a lead they would not relinquish.  Goalie Mike Brown played well for the Eagles, and the overall defensive play was good, but they will need to mount a bit more of an offensive attack in the rematch tonight at Oak Lawn (6:20).

Saturday November 5

RMC White D2 3
DePaul           5

Another close contest against favored DePaul leaves the White team knowing they can compete with anyone in the MACHA Silver...they just have a little learning to do.  Freshmen Nick Cucci and Wayne Kuhl contributed goals and Mike Brown was again solid in net.

The White team is now 5-7-1 and 1-5-1 in league play, but the hardest part of their league schedule has now past, so they have time to grow into a playoff spot.  They travel to Pekin, IL to play a pair of MACHA games against Illinois State next weekend.

Friday October 28

RMC White                     6
SIU-Edwardsville Silver  2

The White team prevailed in a penalty filled contest in East Alton, IL, notching their first official victory in the MACHA Silver tier (they play Northwestern twice and last weekends games were not league games).  Freshman Mark Pelletier scored two goals and Mike Brown continued his solid play in the net.  The White team goes for the sweep this afternoon.

Saturday October 29 "RESCHEDULED"

Friday October 21

RMC White     5
Northwestern  4

The White team gets its first win in MACHA play in a thrilling contest that featured a penalty shot awarded to Northwestern in the final minute of play that could have tied the game...but goalie Mike Brown came up with the big save to preserve the victory.  The White team is now 3-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in league play.  They have another against Northwestern tonight in Highland Park.

Saturday October 22

RMC White          4
Northwestern       3

The White team gets its second victory in the MACHA Silver by sweeping Northwestern on the road, coming back from 3-0 hole.  Freshman Nick Cucci had the game winner and Mike Brown was again the star between the pipes.  The White team is now 4-5-1 overall as they head to East Alton to face the SIUE Silver team next weekend for another pair of MACHA games.

Friday October 14

RMC White      4
Iowa              8

The White team loses to defending MACHA silver tier champions Iowa on the road Friday night. Some soft goals early put them in a hole they could not dig out of. They did get stronger as the game went on and staged a nice comeback. This young team has had back to back weekends against the two finalists in the MACHA silver from last season, so they are finding out early what it is going to take to knock off the best in their league.

The White team is now 2-4-1.

Saturday October 15

RMC White          4
Iowa                  6

A tough loss on the road for the White team, who fall to 0-3-1 in MACHA silver tier play (2-5-1 overall). The White team held the lead with less than five minutes to go when the officials decided it was a good idea for RMC to play the rest of the game 5 on 3, resulting in 3 power play goals for Iowa, boosting the home team to victory.

The White team plays Northwestern "on the road" in Lincolnwood next weekend for a chance to boost their record in league play.
