Blake Sorenson joins the RMC coaching staff after a great playing career as a junior, an NCAA Division III student-athlete, and as a pro.  After two seasons as team captain for the Kitchener Dutchmen in Ontario, Canada, Blake made four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Division III national tournament.  One came during his freshman year at Plattsburgh State University (NY); that was followed by three seasons at St. Norbert College (WI).  During his tenure at SNC, the Green Knights also won three Northern Collegiate Hockey Association regular season titles and two tournament titles.

Blake continued his playing career through five seasons in overseas pro leagues, playing in England, Yugoslavia, and Austria.  He began coaching youth leagues during his professional career and upon his return to the States continued with the Glenn Ellyn Flames.  The Flames won their league championship as well as the Can-Am Tournament at the US Olympic facility in lake Placid, NY.  He also assisted current RMC Head Coach Jim Sanchez during his tenure with the state champion Loyola Academy junior varsity.

During 2003-2005, Blake returned to Europe as a coach.  Last year he worked for the Mission, a highly successful Chicago-area youth program, coaching them to the state finals.

"Blake's wide range of playing and coaching experience will be a great resource for our players," says Coach Sanchez.  "He'll be a real asset to our program."
