Joliet, IL.  ^{_{Herving Sanchez (Sr. - Round Lake, IL) fired a 5 over par 77 to place 5th at the St. Francis Spring Invitational played on the par 72 Wedgewood G.C. layout in Joliet, IL on Tuesday.  The Eagles placed 4th out of 13 teams shooting 325.  Wheaton College won the event with a 317 total.  Sanchez (at left) played his best golf of the early spring season and in doing so earned his first medal of the spring.  Other contributors for RMU included Chris Myers and Jason Ratzburg with 82's (T-19th/70),  Jaisu Sookhakitch  84 (T-28th), and Erik Lindgren 86 (T-35th).  RMU will travel to the Monmouth/Knox Tourney April 25-26 for their next competition.}}

Lindgren Paces Eagles at Millikin!!

Decatur, IL.   Erik Lindgren (Jr. - Byron, IL) fought the 30-40 mph winds, 40 degree temperatures and rain on Friday and Saturday at the Red Tail G.C. (par 72) in Decatur IL to place 5th (100 players) individually by carding a 27 hole round of 121  in the Big Blue Classic.  Lindgren (pictured at right) led the Eagles to a 9th place finish out of 22 teams with RMU posting a 27 hole total of 508.  One of the NAIA's top rated teams Lindenwood (MO ) won the weather shortened event with a score of 492.  Chris Myers (Sr. - Zion, IL) just missed the top ten placing 11th with a 126 total.  Other contributors for the Eagles were Herving Sanchez (Sr. - Round Lake, IL) and Jason Ratzburg (Sr. - Kenosha, WI) both shooting 131, and Allyn Emmons (Jr. - Peoria, IL) who carded a 135.  Robert Morris will travel to Wedgewood G.C. Tuesday afternoon April 15 to compete in the St. Francis Spring Invitational. 





 

Myers/Lindgren Lead Eagles at WIU!

Macomb, IL.   Chris Myers (pictured right) and Erik Lindgren (pictured below left) led the Robert Morris University Eagles out of the cold and snow of the north to the warmer and drier weather conditions of Southwestern Illinois in the Beu/Muassatto Invitational hosted by Western Illinois University.  The 54 hole event was played on the the Harry Mussatto G.C. par 72 and was won by the host school with rounds of 298-286-301 (885).  RMU posted rounds of 326-316-323 (965) to place 11th out of 16 in this predominantly NCAA D-1 Tourney.  CCAC All-Conference and NAIA All-Region 7 Player Myers (Sr. - Zion, IL) carded rounds of 82-76-79 (237) to tie for 42nd out of 90 players.  Lindgren (Jr. - Byron, IL) shot 81-79-80 (240) to tie for 48th.  Other contributors for Robert Morris included Herving Sanchez (Sr. - Round Lake, IL) with rounds of 80-84-82 (246, T-60th), Tony DiPersio (Jr. - Antioch, IL) 89-78-82 (249, T-67th), and Jaisu Sookhakitch (Fr. - Gurnee, IL) 83-83-94 (260, T-78th).  The Eagles travel to Decatur this Fri/Sat April 11-12 for the Millikin Big Blue Classic.
