Eagles -Placko Finish Season on High Note
The RMC Men's Golf Team completed a very successful 2005-2006 campaign finishing 13th/21 at the talent laden IWU Invitational followed by a 4th/7 team finish at the UW Parkside Ranger Invitational. Adam Placko finished his outstanding career at RMC by shooting a 1 over par 72 to win his second Spring Tourney within the last 2 weeks to lead the Eagles at the final competition of the year at Meadowbrook G. C. in Racine. He was followed by Andrew Lundin and Chris Myers both with 80's (T-12). Jason Ratzburg shot 84 (25th) to round out the scoring at the Ranger Invitational. Although RMC is losing Adam Placko to graduation, their future looks very bright with everyone else returning along with some solid recruits such as Eric Lindgren (brother of Britney Lindgren on the RMC Women's Golf Team). Best of luck to graduating senior Adam Placko and a job well done in just their 3rd season by the RMC Men's Golf team and their coaches Jim Dennor and Bruce Daydif !!!!!!
RMC Places 4th at St. Francis
After a solid outing in their spring debue at Millikin last weekend, the Eagles slipped a little at the St. Francis Invitational on Tues finishing 4th of 11 with a 314 total. The host school easily outdistanced the field with a 4 over par team total of 292. Chris Myers once again played well for RMC with a 4 over par 76 to place in a tie for 8th place. Chris was followed by Jason Ratzburg 77 (T-10), Andrew Lundin 79 (T-21), and Adam Placko 82 (T-31). The Men Golfers will travel to IL Wesyleyan this weekend for their next competition.
Eagles and Placko Begin Spring Season with Impressive Performance
RMC Men's Golf Team placed 7th out of 23 at the Big Blue Classic this past Easter weekend in Decatur, IL. Millikin U. hosted the tourney won by IWU with a 2 day total of 596, followed by Franklin College 597, and a tie for 3rd with Blackburn College/Lindenwood U. with 600 totals. The Eagles shot 309-301 (610) over the 2 days to tie for 7th with Augustana College. RMC's Adam Placko was the tournament medalist with an outstanding 2 day total of 72-73 (145) just 2 over par. Chris Myers just missed a medal with an 11th place finish with solid rounds of 76-73 (149). He was followed by Jason Ratzburg 78-77 (155) and Andrew Lundin 83-78 (161). RMC will take to the road again this Tues to compete in the St. Francis Invitational.
RMC Golfers Finish 4th in Tough NAIA Region 7 Championships
The RMC Eagles Golfers played their best golf of the year in posting a 2 day total of 298-299 (597) to finish 17 shots back of National Power St. Ambrose at Weaver Ridge in Peoria. The Eagles were led by Chris Myers with rounds of 71-74 (145), good for 4th place and All Region 7 Honors for the second straight year. Chris was only 2 shots out of qualifying for the National Finals. Other RMC scores: Jason Ratzburg 75-75 (150), Adam Placko 79-72 (151), Andrew Lundin 73-78 (151), and Luke Chikerotis 85-80 (165). The Eagles shot a record low 141 on the front nine of the 2nd day of the Regionals to pull even with St. Ambrose only to struggle on the back nine with 158. RMC enjoyed an outstanding fall winning 3 tournaments. They will now await the pre-season NAIA rankings(Nov) and take some time off until early spring.
Men Golfers Finish 2nd at Conference on Tie-Breaker
After being knotted up at 305 with St. Francis after the 1st 4 scores were posted, RMC Men Golfers lost on the 5th score 79-85 to place 2nd at the Conference Championships held at Inwood G.C. However, Adam Placko was tournament medalist with a 1 over par 72 to become one of 2 RMC Golfers to earn All-Conference Honors. Chris Myers 75 (3rd) also earned All-Conference Honors. Jason Ratzburg 77 (7th) was Honorable Mention. Rounding out the scoring for RMC were Andrew Lundin 81 and Luke Chikerotis 85. The Eagles will begin preparation for the NAIA Region 7 Regional played at Weaver Ridge in Peoria Oct 17/18.
Eagles Win North Central Invitational!!!!!!!!!!!
RMC Men's Golfers won their 2nd tourney in 2 weeks with a 311 total to outlast St. Francis (317) in the 5 team tourney held at Cress Creek C.C. Chris Myers once again led the Eagles with a 1 over par 73 (2nd place). Adam Placko 76 (T-3), Jason Ratzburg 77 (5th), and Andrew Lundin 85 all contributed to the victory. RMC had to play with just 4 players as Luke Chikerotis had to withdraw with a shoulder injury, thus placing added pressure on to the other RMC golfers to perform for which they did admirably. RMC will compete in the Conference Championships Oct 6 at Inwood Golf Course hosted by St. Francis.
RMC Golfers Place 2nd at St. Francis
Following up an outstanding performance at Carthage, the RMC Men's Golf Team had another solid performance in finishing 2nd to St. Francis 304 to 294 in the 5 team event. The Eagles were led by Chris Myers with a 73 (3rd), followed by Luke Chikerotis 75 (5th), Andrew Lundin 77 (9th), and both Adam Placko & Jason Ratzburg carded 79's (T12) to finish the scoring. RMC will travel to North Central College for their next competition.
Eagles Win Carthage Fall Classic!!!!!!!!!!
RMC Men's Golfer's won their 1st Invitational with a 27 hole total at Brightendale G. C. with a 453 total. RMC's closest opponent was Milwaukee School of Engineering (460) followed by the host school Carthage at 464. 11 Teams competed at Carthage. The Eagles played very consistent in the high winds and heavy downpours that prevailed on Thursday. RMC was led by Adam Placko 38-37-37 (112) 4 over par 4th place. Jason Ratzburg 37-36-40 (113) placed 7th, followed by Luke Chikerotis 40-38-39 (115) 9th place, and Chris Myers 39-37-40 (116) 11th place. RMC travels to St. Francis on Weds. for their next competition.
RMC Places 3rd at St. Francis
The Eagles Golf Team once again had a very strong showing at the St. Francis Invitational played at Wedgewood G.C. placing 3rd (301) just 4 shots out of 1st. Knox College(297) won the tourney followed by Danville(299). Adam Placko (74) placed 6th, follwed by Andrew Lundeen (75) 7th, Chris Myers (76) and Jason Ratzburg (76) tied for 16th. This was RMC's lowest total this year. The Eagles will travel to Carthage Thurs for the Carthage Fall Classic.
Eagles Place 10th/22 in Strong Field
RMC Men's golf team placed 10th/22 teams in one of the strongest fields in the Midwest shooting 313/306 (619) in the 36 hole event won by National NAIA power St. Ambrose with a 591 total. St. Ambrose was followed by another NAIA power Grandview 602 for 2nd place. St. Francis(617) of Joliet finished 2 shots ahead of RMC for 9th place. Jason Ratzburg led RMC with a 79-73 (152) total, followed by Chris Myers 79-74 (154), Luke Chikerotis 79-78 (157), Andrew Lundin 76-82 (158), and Adam Placko 82-81 (163). The Eagles travel to St. Francis on Tuesday for a 6 team Invitational.
RMC Places 2nd at Home
RMC Men's Golfers placed 2nd in its own invitational Monday with a respectable 314 finishing behind powerful St. Francis(306). Olivet-Nazarene (336) placed 3rd followed by Indiana-Northwest(345) and Rockford(366). Chris Myers(3rd place) led the Eagles with a 3 over par 75 at the Bonnie Brook layout. He was followed by Adam Placko(4th place) 76, Luke Chikerotis 81, and Andrew Lundin 82. The Eagles travel to Iowa this weekend for the Mt. Mercy Invitational.
RMC Wins Tourney Opener!
The RMC Men's Golf Team opened its season by winning the Aurora Invitational with a 302 total to nip St. Francis(303) by one shot. Andrew Lundin fired a 3 under par 69 to take medalist honors for the Eagles. Andrew is the 1st RMC golfer to shoot under par in competition. Adam Placko(74), Jason Ratzburg(78) and Chris Myers(81) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles. RMC will host their own tourney Sept 12 at Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan for their next competition.
Eagles Begin Fall Practices
RMC Men's Golfers will begin practice Mon Aug 15 at Bonnie Brook Golf Course from 1-5 PM. Schedule for the remainder of the week will include Tues-Weds 1-5 PM at Bonnie Brook Golf Course, and Thurs. 1:30 - 5:30 PM at Foss Park Golf Course.
