Jared Williamson - Head Coach
Williamson begins his 2nd year as the Head Football Coach at Robert Morris. After an exhaustive search, Williamson was hired in 2010 as the first Head Football Coach in Robert Morris University’s 98-year history, dating back to 1913. He is charged with directing an Eagles program that will begin competition for the first time in 2011, and will open conference play as a member of the NAIA’s Mid States Football Association in 2013.
Williamson’s appointment comes on the heels of a successful stint as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach at NCAA Division III Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. Under Head Coach Norm Eash, Williamson directed a Titan offense that averaged 30 points, 425 yards, and 21 first downs per game in his final season at IWU (2009). In addition to his title as Offensive Coordinator, Williamson also served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for a Titan program that finished the 2009 season ranked #9 in the NCAA Division III Coaches’ Poll and earned a playoff berth after securing the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship with a 9-1 regular-season record.
As the quarterback for NAIA Mayville State University (Dakota Athletic Conference), Williamson captained the 2003-05 Comets as a 3-year starter and 4-year varsity letterman. Highlighting his career, Williamson holds Mayville single season records for passing yards, completions, and touchdowns. A two-time All-Conference selection (2003, 2005), Williamson graduated from Mayville with an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education while double majoring in Social Science and Physical Education. He also holds a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology from Illinois State University.
Williamson is a native of Dallas, Texas, although his father’s service in United States Air Force allowed his family to settle in multiple locations including Germany, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Alaska where he graduated from Chugiak High School in 2001. Williamson currently resides in the Chicago suburb of Aurora with his wife Kelsey and two daughters Abigail and Gloria.
