Eagles Honored with Post-Season Awards!

RMU-Springfield places three individual on the USCAA All-America Teams and two on the USCAA Academic All-America Team.

2004 USCAA Men's Div. 1 All-America Team:
Tyke Bohanan, senior G, Canton, IL - Tyke was a 2003 All-Tournament Selection and 2003 Academic All-American.

2004 USCAA Men's Div. 1 Special Mention All-America Team:
Timothy "Dirk" Williams, junior F, Pekin, IL - This is Dirk's first selection to the All-America Team.

2004 USCAA Men's Div. 1 Honorable Mention All-America Team:
Travaras Reed, junior F, Panama City, FL - This is Travaras' first selection to the All-America Team.

2004 USCAA Academic All-Americans:
Tyke Bohanan, senior G, Canton, IL - Two-time selection.
Matt Wiseman, senior F, Athens, IL - First-time selection.

2003-04 USCAA Men's D1 Consolation Champions!

For the second time in as many years, Robert Morris University-Springfield can lay claim to the USCAA National Tournament Consolation Championship and the final USCAA ranking of #5 in the nation.

In their consolation game against Finlandia University, RMU-Springfield shot a blistering 91.3% on 21/23 shooting in the second half to come roaring back against the Lions and lock down the consolation championship.  The Eagles were led by their big three in scoring.  Senior Tyke Bohanan, a 2003 USCAA All-Tournament Team selection, led the offense with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assist.  Juniors Dirk Williams and Travaras Reed each scored 22 points and 17 points respectively.  Williams played all 40 minutes for the Eagles, while Bohanan was able to get the proper recognition the senior deserved exiting the came with 30 seconds remaining to a standing ovation.

Eagles drop opener!

For the second year in a row, RMU-Springfield will be forced to play for the USCAA Consolation Championship after failing to get a victory in their opening round of the USCAA Men's Div. 1 National Tournament.  The Eagles, with the #3 seed, were not able to hold off the #6 seed Presentation College.

Eagle's receive #3 seed at 2003-04 USCAA Men's Division I National Tournament!

RMU-Springfield finished off the 2003-04 regular season with an overall record of 15-14 and the #3 seed at this years USCAA National Tournament.

The Eagle's will play their first game on Thursday, March 4th at 4:00pm.  They will face the winner of #6 Presentation vs. #11 Marygrove winner.

The 2003-04 USCAA Men's Division I National Tournament will be hosted by Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK.

Bohanan named USCAA Player of the Week!

Tyke Bohanan, a 6'1" senior guard from Canton, IL, has been named the USCAA Player of the Week for February 23, 2004.  In RMU-Springfield's game against NCAA Div. II Oakland City, Bohanan scored 32 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished out 7 assist, and shot 10-17 from the field, 4-5 from 3-point range and 8-9 free throws.

Eagles capture fourth straight!

You could say the RMU-Springfield men's basketball team is peaking at the opportune moment heading into the final weeks of the season and the USCAA Div. 1 National Tournament.  RMU captured their fourth straight victory with an impressive win over Utah Valley State 67-64.  The Eagles have won 7 out-of-their last 8 games.  Dirk Williams scored a game high 23 points to lead RMU.

Williams hits for 26!

Junior forward Dirk Williams once again hit for 26 points in leading RMU to their third straight victory lifting the Eagle's to 9-12 for the season.  Williams has now scored 26 points in back-to-back games for RMU.

Eagles impressive in wins!

RMU-Springfield has improved to 8-12 with recent wins over Greenville College and Concordia Seminary.  Dirk Williams led the way for RMU over Concordia with 26 points and 19 rebounds.

Eagles snap 5-game losing streak!

With a strong second half team performance, RMU-Springfield snapped a 5-game losing streak started back on December 5th.  Trailing by one at the half, RMU outscored the visiting Beavers of Blackburn College 36-23 in the second half to secure a 69-57 victory and improve their overall record to 4-10 before heading to California for a 3-game trip. 

In the victory, RMU was led by Dirk Williams with 20 points and 7 rebounds, Tyke Bohanan with 18 points, Travaras Reed with 10 points and Josh Gilman grabbed 9 rebounds.

Bohanan leads RMU past Principia!

Senior guard Tyke Bohanan poured in 24 points to lead RMU-Springfield past the visiting Panthers of Principia College.  Forwards Dirk Williams scored 17 points and grabbed 2 rebounds and Josh Gilman added 12 points and 4 rebounds.  RMU is now 3-5 overall and next travel to Pensacola, FL to take part in the Pensacola Christian College Tournament Dec. 5th and 6th.

Eagles lose close one at home!

Brian Dunaway hit 5-of-11 from 3-point range and finished with 27 points to lift Lincoln Christian College past RMU 83-84 on Monday evening.  Tyke Bohanan had 31 points and seven rebounds as he played all 40 minutes for RMU.  Dirk Williams added 20 points for the Eagles.

Eagles defeat Soldiers in home opener!

The RMU-Springfield Eagles started the game on a 16-0 run and never looked back as they cruised to a 91-28 victory over the Soldiers of St. Louis Christian College on Monday evening.  The Eagles defense held SCC to 21% shooting from the floor and forced 30 turnovers.  The Eagles were led by Travaras Reed with 22 points.  Tyke Bohanan put in 20 points while dishing out 5 assist, and Dirk Williams scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.  The Eagles next will travel to McKenzie, TN to take on Bethel College and Brescia University as they look to improve on their current 2-1 record.

RMU-Springfield enjoys good start to season!

After facing a tough experienced basketball team on Friday evening in the opener to the St. Joseph's Tournament, RMU-Springfield used their 2nd half momentum from the previous night and defeated the 2002-03 USCAA National Tournament Runner-up Rhema Bible by a score of 69-57 on Saturday afternoon. 

RMU-Springfield officially stands at 1-0 for the season.  Friday's game represented an exhibition game for the record.

Build on the end of 2002-03!

The men's basketball squad for 2003-04 will look to build on their strong finish in last years USCAA Div. I National Tournament.  Coach Gordon has a strong nucleus of returners with the addition of a few key newcomers to once again reach nationals hosted by Rhema Bible in Oklahoma.
